Elli and Mark Gordon and Sarah and Gary Wolkowitz are the owners of Hot Sox, one of the key socks and tights companies. The four began with an idea that socks were pretty boring. At the time when the majority of socks were solid, dark colors, nylon or other synthetics, the Hot Sox crew produced an all-cotton, silk screened sock.

The first socks were sold mostly at boutique shows, the starting point for many lines at the time. By the time they introduced their first national hit, a six color repeat stripe sock, they had already quit their "day" jobs to work full time on Hot Sox, a name chosen because of its similarity to another hot property of the time, hot pants.

Since then, the company has been instrumental in establishing pattern socks as a part of regular assortments. They really believe in offering the market something different. In fact, Hot Sox deliberately took the pattern route back in the '70s when other big knitters were taking the color route.

Hot Sox is now one of the largest supplier of socks and tights. The company excels in coming up with new and original ideas, so keep checking the racks for a pattern that will catch your eye and be the perfect sock design for you.
